fsi deploy server
The fsi deploy server is a physical or virtual Server. The settings you need for each are followed now:
pyhsical server
CPU: at least 2 CPUs
RAM: at least 8GB (depending on the number of server)
Network Cards: at least 2 NICs, able to configure VLAN
Untagged/nativ VLAN of all NIC ports should be the server management VLAN, the deploy server need in this mgmt network a IP
For every VLAN / network, you want to install a ESXi, XenServer or Linux Server, this VLAN have to connect to the deploy server as a tagged VLAN
Tagged VLAN for replication (heartbeat / unrouted VLAN) + IP
at least 300
GB HD = 120
GB local (Raid 1 or 5) + approx. 180
GB network storage (nfs, LUN)
Remote Board (e.g. HP iLO) with vCD-ROM to mount ISO files
virtual machine
CPU: at least 2 CPUs, no
MHz resource assigment needed
RAM: at least 12GB RAM (depending on the number of server)
Network Cards: at least 2 VMXNET3 or E1000 network cards
VM hardware version: VMWare VM Version 9 or higher
VM
OS Option: Linux CentOS 4/5/6/7 64bit
Options: BIOS, 10000 milliseconds boot count
vCD-ROM + access to ISO storage and access right for mounting iso
Two possibilities:
2 * NIC E1000 manual MAC: port group with VLAN ID 4095, port group promiscuous mode = accept, NICs as nativ VLAN in out server mgmt network
1 * NIC E1000 manual MAC: port group with nativ VLAN as fixed VLAN config + 1 * NIC E1000 manual MAC: port group promiscuous mode = accept with VLAN 4095
Tagged VLAN for replication (heartbeat / unrouted VLAN) + IP or own E1000 NIC with fix VLAN ID
In every VLAN / network, in which you plan to install a ESXi, XenServer or linux server, you need a VLAN tagged network
